Swedish Massage Course

A Swedish massage is a popular and widely practiced form of therapeutic massage that focuses on promoting relaxation, soothing muscles, and improving overall well-being. This massage technique uses a variety of movements and pressures to target different muscle groups.

During a Swedish massage, the client typically lies on a massage table while the therapist uses long, flowing strokes known as effleurage to warm up the muscles. These strokes, combined with kneading and circular movements, help to release tension and improve blood circulation.

The therapist will also use petrissage, a kneading technique that involves lifting and squeezing the muscles to reduce stiffness and improve flexibility. In addition, tapotement (tapping or percussive movements) may be used to stimulate the muscles and invigorate the body.

The treatment may finish with gentle movements and techniques to enhance relaxation and leave the client feeling calm and refreshed.

What sets Swedish massage apart is its focus on creating a relaxing and calming experience. Alongside physical benefits such as improved circulation and reduced muscle tension, this treatment also supports mental well-being, making it a popular choice for clients looking to relax and unwind.

During your training, you will learn how to carry out a full Swedish massage routine, including how to adapt pressure, use correct techniques, and deliver a professional treatment experience.

A Swedish massage can also be added to other treatments, such as facials, by incorporating hand and arm massage, or to pedicures with foot and lower leg massage, helping to enhance your service offering.

This is the first course you should take if you are looking to progress into massage treatments.
