Russian Lash Extensions: A Step-by-Step Guide

Russian lash extensions, also known as volume lashes, are a popular lash extension technique that creates a full and voluminous lash line. Here's how to apply Russian lash extensions in a few easy steps.

Step 1: Consultation

Before applying Russian lash extensions, have a consultation with your client to determine their desired lash look, natural lash health, and any allergies or sensitivities. It's essential to discuss the different lash options and choose the appropriate length, thickness, and curl to suit your client's natural lashes.

Step 2: Preparation

Prepare your workstation by ensuring that all your tools and equipment are clean, sanitized, and within reach. Have your adhesive, lash tray, tweezers, and any other necessary tools on hand. Sanitize your hands and make sure your client's eyes are clean and free from makeup, oil, and residue.

Step 3: Isolate natural lashes

Using lash extension tape or gel pads, isolate the natural lashes to prevent them from sticking together during the application process. This will also make it easier to access individual natural lashes.

Step 4: Create lash fans

Using volume lash tweezers, pick up several ultra-thin, lightweight lashes at once and create a fan by gently pressing them together. Dip the base of the fan into a small amount of adhesive, then tap the base of the fan onto a lash tile to remove excess adhesive.

Step 5: Apply lash fans

Using your volume lash tweezers, carefully place the lash fan onto the isolated natural lash, about 1-2mm from the lash line. Gently press down on the base of the fan with your tweezers to ensure a secure bond. Repeat the process until you've achieved the desired fullness and volume.

Step 6: Repeat on the other eye

Repeat the process on the other eye, alternating between eyes to ensure symmetry.

Step 7: Remove tape or gel pads

Once you've applied all the Russian lash extensions, gently remove the tape or gel pads from the client's eyes.

Step 8: Finishing touches

Using a lash comb or brush, comb through the lashes to ensure they are separated and free from any tangles. Trim any excess length, if necessary, to create a more natural and even look. Prime the lashes before application of the fans and once at the end of the service making sure you bond the lashes and fan dry them.

In conclusion, applying Russian lash extensions requires skill, patience, and attention to detail. By following these steps and using high-quality products and tools, you can create beautiful and voluminous lashes for your clients.
