How to Care for Your Lash Extensions: A Step-by-Step Guide

You've finally gotten the luscious lashes you've always dreamed of with lash extensions! Now, it's time to learn how to care for them to ensure they last as long as possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to care for your lash extensions:

Step 1: Keep them dry for 24 hours

After getting lash extensions, it's essential to keep them dry for at least 24 hours. Water can weaken the bond between the lash extensions and your natural lashes, causing them to fall off prematurely. So, avoid getting them wet by skipping the shower, pool, or sauna during this time.

Step 2: Avoid oil-based products

Oil-based products can break down the adhesive used to attach the lash extensions, causing them to fall off. Avoid using oil-based products such as makeup remover, moisturizers, and sunscreen on or near your lash extensions.

Step 3: Gently brush them

Brushing your lash extensions regularly helps to keep them separated and prevent tangling. Use a clean, spoolie brush to gently comb through your lashes, starting from the roots and moving upwards. Be gentle and avoid pulling or tugging on your lashes.

Step 4: Don't rub your eyes

Rubbing your eyes can damage your lash extensions and cause them to fall off prematurely. If you need to rub your eyes, do it gently with a clean tissue or cloth.

Step 5: Avoid sleeping on your stomach

Sleeping on your stomach can crush your lash extensions and cause them to become misshapen. Try to sleep on your back or side to keep your lashes in their original shape.

Step 6: Schedule regular fills

Lash extensions typically last between 3-4 weeks before needing a fill. Schedule regular fills to maintain your lash extensions' fullness and ensure they last as long as possible.

Step 7: Take care when removing makeup

When removing makeup, be gentle around your lash extensions. Use a non-oil-based makeup remover and avoid rubbing or pulling on your lashes.

Step 8: Use a lash growth serum

Using a lash growth serum can help keep your natural lashes healthy and promote lash growth. Just make sure the serum is safe to use with lash extensions.

By following these simple steps, you can keep your lash extensions looking beautiful and full for longer. With proper care and maintenance, your lash extensions can last up to 6 weeks or more!

Step by Step in Lash Bath

Cleaning your lash extensions regularly is crucial to keep them looking fresh and healthy. A lash bath is an easy way to clean your lashes and remove any dirt or makeup residue. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do a lash bath:

Step 1: Gather your supplies

You'll need a few items to do a lash bath:

  • Lash cleansing solution

  • Clean, lint-free cloth or lint-free cotton pads

  • A clean spoolie brush

  • Make sure the lash cleansing solution is safe to use with lash extensions.

  • A cool fan

Step 2: Apply the lash cleansing solution

Dampen the clean cloth or cotton pads with the lash cleansing solution. Gently press the damp cloth or pads onto your closed eyes, making sure to cover your lash line and lashes. Keep your eyes closed and let the solution soak in for a few minutes.

Step 3: Gently cleanse your lashes

After a few minutes, use the clean spoolie brush to gently brush your lashes. Start at the base of your lashes and work your way up to the tips, using gentle, sweeping motions. This will help remove any dirt or makeup residue from your lashes.

Step 4: Rinse and dry

Once you've cleaned your lashes, rinse your face with cool water to remove any remaining lash cleansing solution. Use the clean cloth or cotton pads to gently pat your face dry, being careful not to rub or tug on your lashes. Using your cool fan blow the lashes while combing through with your spoolie until dry

And that's it! By doing a lash bath regularly, you can help keep your lash extensions clean and healthy, which will help them last longer.
